Product Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a high-ownership Product Manager to independently run a SaaS. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and day-to-day product decisions.
• Talk directly to customers and prospects via live chat and product demo calls.
• Identify problems and opportunities without waiting for the founder.
• Study competitors and changes in the Shopify and Ecommerce ecosystem.
• Turn customer problems into simple product solutions.
• Write clear requirements, flows and acceptance criteria.
• Work directly with developers and designers.
• Personally test what gets shipped and build a culture of using our own product regularly.
• Use product data to understand adoption, activation and retention.
• Work with sales/support to understand objections, lost deals and churn.
• Decide what not to build.
• Ship quickly, learn from customers and iterate.
• Take responsibility for the outcome, not just delivery.

Requirements

• Strong bias toward action.
• Ability to work without large teams or layers of process.
• Comfort with making good decisions with incomplete information.
• Comfort getting into details when required.
• Understanding of technology well enough to have meaningful conversations about APIs, integrations and technical constraints.
• Ability to switch between strategy and execution on the go.
• Preference for shipping something useful this week over spending three weeks discussing the perfect solution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with B2B SaaS, Shopify apps, ecommerce, marketplaces, fintech, logistics or workflow products.
• Startup / scale-up experience strongly preferred.
• Experience as an early PM, first PM or sole PM is particularly valuable.
• Has owned a meaningful product or product area end-to-end.
• Has worked directly with founders and engineering teams.
• Evidence of features/products they personally took from problem discovery to launch and adoption.
