Job description
Software Engineer Intern — Python & Applied AI-ML
xAverage Technologies builds AI voice-conversation platforms. We're a small, bootstrapped, early-stage team based in Bengaluru. We're looking for a fresher software engineer intern to work closely with our founding engineering team and contribute to real, shipped features from day one.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain features across our stack — frontend, backend, database, applied AI-ML — under guidance from senior engineers.
- Work hands-on with Python for backend services, scripting, and applied AI/ML tasks.
- Assist in integrating and testing the AI/LLM-based features in our product.
- Own the responsibility of testing and debugging your own code through to production.
What we're looking for:
- Fresh graduate (2026 / 2005 pass out) — with demonstrable hands-on coding skills. Prior work experience (internship) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Solid fundamentals in Python, with working knowledge of applied AI/ML.
- Hands-on with some kind of application development with working knowledge of Git.
- Comfort in a small startup team with a fast-paced dynamic environment - where you'll be asked to figure things out.
Good to have:
- Personal project involving an LLM API, chatbot, or agentic AI workflow.
- Exposure to React / Next.js or Node.js.
- Prior internship experience.
What you'll get:
- Mentorship from senior engineers, hands-on work, healthy environment.
- Real ownership from day one.
Suitable interns may be converted to full-time employee based on their performance, company requirements and prevailing market scenario. Immediate joiners will be preferred.
Compensation Band: ₹20,000 – 25,000/month stipend, with room to move for the right candidate. Location: Bellandur, Bengaluru (onsite)
About the company

xAverage Technologies Private Limited is a small, early-stage product and technology company based in Bengaluru, India. Our name comes from x̄ — the mathematical average. The belief behind it: progress isn't usually one exceptional moment. It's the average, steadily improving. Our product, WTN Pulse, exists because most feedback tools start with an assumption: that a fixed list of questions can capture what someone actually thinks. In practice, the real concern is often something the form never asked about — and typing it out, in English, adds one more barrier on top. People speak more naturally than they write. WTN Pulse replaces the form with a short voice conversation that follows where the respondent's real concern actually is, in their own language, and turns it into a clear, usable report. We're building hands-on, with a small team, and with real attention to accessibility, trust, and doing this properly rather than quickly. wtn.live
